Noel McKoy is an internationally renowned singer, songwriter and producer.

With over forty years in the music industry, Noel has recorded, performed and toured the world with many of the greatest names in music including (but not limited to): The Staks Band, Stevie Wonder, Kool and The Gang, Ronald Isley, Gladys Knight, George Clinton, Womack and Womack, Atlantic Starr, Lonnie Liston Smith, The Sounds of Blackness, Nu Colors and Marcus Miller.

Noel has sung duets with UK stars including Mica Paris, Beverley Knight, Juliet Roberts and Ebony Alleyne. In addition, he’s collaborated with respected innovators Omar, Mark Morrison, Incognito’s Bluey Maunick, Steve Williamson, Linton ‘Kwesi’ Johnson, The Pasadenas and Acid Jazz’s Snowboy – all of whom consider him a major force to be reckoned with.

He has taken the stage by storm at New York’s legendary Apollo Theatre, London’s Royal Albert Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall.

Stevie Wonder requested Noel sing with him at his London 02 concerts.

As the songwriter for, and signature voice of The James Taylor Quartet’s most commercial period – completing 10 world tours and three albums with them, Noel McKoy was at the forefront of the 1990’s Acid Jazz explosion.

As well as being a highly successful front-man and collaborator with other major artists, Noel McKoy is also a deeply respected innovator. The genre-defining street soul anthem “Family” which he wrote, produced and performed in family band Mckoy with his brothers and sister in 1993, is revered over twenty years later as a stylistically unique classic, loved by an entire generation of UK soul fans.

Noel has performed many successful studio sessions with soul legends Atlantic Star, Courtney Pine and Climie Fisher.

Since 2000, the resurgence of the house music scene has, again, heard Noel McKoy’s thundering vocals fronting many chart hits such as the classic “So Right” by Jet Lag (produced by Axwell of the Swedish Mafia). Noel, along with his sisters, also featured on Legendary producer Ian Levine’s Northern Soul 2007 and Disco 2008.

Noel’s mastery of classic soul stylings was demonstrated on his album “Brighter Day” – featured live on BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends – and on his series of all-star tribute shows to the greats of black music such as Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield and Donny Hathaway. His successful take on the masters showcased his power, range and versatility, which brought the house down.

Noel was one of the featured singers on BBC Radio 3’s Jazz Voice concert – a celebration of some of the great songs of the past few decades, sung by some of the great voices of today.

Noel has featured in the acclaimed cinema movie “Glastonbury”. He has also written for Sir Cliff Richard OBE.

Soundtrack commissions include (but not limited to): composing the music for Children’s ITV drama “Running Loose”, writing and performing the 1994 BBC1 Commonwealth Games Theme “The Brave”. Hollywood took notice and, soon thereafter, he co-wrote the song “Five Good Reasons” for the movie Bad Company starring Ellen Barkin and Laurence Fishburne.

Noel co-wrote and performed on Jean Toussaint’s album ‘A Street Below the Underground’ which was voted Best Album in the BBC Radio 3 Jazz Awards.

Noel has performed jazz originals and standards on the stages of the Barbican, Queen Elizabeth Hall, The Royal Albert Hall and Ronnie Scotts. He sang for HRH Elizabeth II on The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee’s River Pageant with Guy Barker’s Jazz Orchestra.
Recent highlights from his ever more diverse career includes taking lead vocals at The Royal Festival Hall for Jazz Jamaica’s 21-piece orchestra’s 2014 “Motown Greats” show led by double bassist Gary Crosby OBE.

In 2015 Noel’s stature within UK Soul Music was again recognised when he was asked to join The British Collective – the supergroup of British soul music pioneers comprising Leee John (Imagination), Omar, Junior and Don-E.

As well as performing and touring, Noel has been writing, recording and producing his TRIO Album concept – which showcases his musical diversity across Soul, Reggae and Dance genres. His “Dutch Pot – Hard Food”, reggae album will be first of the trilogy to be released – Release on Independent Label – Foundation Recordings.

Los Angeles based singer/songwriter and actor Rahsaan Patterson is used to being in the limelight.

This summer marks his 35th anniversary in the entertainment industry. The dynamic artist was
only ten when he landed in the national spotlight as a cast member on the Disney Channel show, Kids Incorporated, alongside cast mates Fergie and Mario Lopez. However, it is not fame that has fueled Patterson all these years but rather an earnest desire to create music and stories about life’s ever-changing journey that capture the human spirit. It is a mission that he has fulfilled well through the narrative of his own soul-stirring compositions. Jeremy Hector interview on Colourful Radio 12-May-2019

Jeremy Sean Hector is a gifted guitarist and songwriter, whose unique approach to writing and performing comprises of a soothing blend of soul and contemporary jazz. He is a perpetual student of music, and aspires to use his gift to positively influence and inspire his listeners.

Jeremy is known for a very melodic style of guitar playing; that has been described as having a vocal quality.

Born on the Caribbean island of Grenada on December 24th, 1990, Jeremy was introduced to music at an early age. His musical journey began at the age of seven; with classical piano lessons. However, it was on the guitar that he found his true passion for music. His father, Jude Hector, being a guitarist himself, exposed Jeremy to a wide variety of contemporary jazz, soul and gospel, and taught him for a few years.

This combination of exposure to music and informal lessons became the bedrock of his musical education. His musical philosophy has been heavily influenced by the likes of the late Chuck Loeb, Ronald “Boo” Hinkson, Eddie Bullen & Arturo Tappin.

In 2009, Jeremy began a four year academic journey on the Caribbean islands of Jamaica and Barbados consecutively, which culminated with a Masters Degree in Psychology. In addition to his academic achievement, he interacted and worked with professional musicians on both islands; an experience which opened his mind to the possibility of life as a musician.

Jeremy’s career as a full-time musician began in November 2014 with the inception of the band Soul Deep; with his twin brother, Josh Hector, being the drummer and bandleader. Soul Deep drew widespread attention on the island because of their versatility and the ease with which they tackled songs from musical giants such as Earth Wind & Fire and Stevie Wonder.

The band enjoyed moments such as memorable performances with Ronald “Boo” Hinkson at the Rhythms of Spice jazz concert, and backing the UK’s British Collective comprised of Omar Lye-Fook, Junior Giscombe, Don-E, Noel McKoy and Leee John at the Pure Grenada Music Festival.

Individually, Jeremy has been featured onstage with internationally acclaimed musicians such as saxophonist Arturo Tappin, and pianist Eddie Bullen; experiences which have significantly contributed to his musical development.

To date, the highlight of his career has been partnering with Eddie Bullen and Thunder Dome Sounds to record and release his debut album titled Ascension. As the title suggests, Ascension is just the first step in documenting a musical journey that promises to be fruitful and inspirational.

Chelsea Wilson is a Melbourne based vocalist, songwriter, broadcaster and producer. Her debut soul inspired album “I Hope You’ll Be Very Unhappy Without Me” was lauded #2 Album of the Year on ABC Radio National and nominated for Best Soul Album at The Age Music Victoria Awards. An internationally acclaimed live performer she headlined the Arts Centre Melbourne stage at the Australasian World Music Expo; supported Macy Gray on her Australian tour; and made her UK debut at Glastonbury Festival 2015, subsequently selling out the famous London Jazz Café.

Her highly anticipated second album “Chasing Gold” (available March 22) sees Chelsea move into rare-groove territory, fusing her love of early disco, epic pop and jazz. Produced by ARIA nominated composer/ bassist Ross McHenry (The Shaolin Afronauts), the album features lush string orchestration arranged by Ross Irwin (The Bamboos) and backing vocals by Jason Heerah and Thando. The debut single “Real Love” has garnered international airplay.

Behind the scenes Chelsea is the Artistic Director of the Stonnington Jazz Festival and recently appeared as a panel expert on Australian Music at The Lincoln Centre New York City for Jazz Congress 2019. A champion for diversity in the music industry she has produced the ‘Women of Soul’ series featuring artists such as Kylie Auldist, Mojo Juju and Stella Angelico alongside emerging artists since 2010. She is currently Deputy Chair of Music Victoria, the state peak body for contemporary music and was a formative member of the MV Women in Music Advisory Panel.

As a DJ Chelsea has supported artists including Booker T, Neneh Cherry, Tina Arena, Hiatus Kaiyote and Craig Charles.

Mandee is an award-winning, international singer/songwriter based in the UK who has been singing from the age of 4 and has proven her vocal abilities through many different styles of music she has been recording since the 90’s. She has released some incredible songs which have taken us on a momentous journey as they all bring back sweet memories if you are a true connoisseur of music.

The first song which gave Mandee a lot of recognition was an original track written by the songstress entitled “The Feeling” going back over a decade ago. This song was a production by Cassell The Beat Maker and recorded at As1 studios engineered by DJ Sb.

In October 2015 Mandee released a superb cover of Love Unlimited classic track “If You Want Me…Say It” and the response she still receives via live performances or airplay is remarkable. This song came to light with Frederica Tibbs recommending to Derek Fevrier (Nu Lovers UK) that she thought Mandee would do wonders with covering this timeless classic and so said…so done.

Following through to February 2016 revealed the release of another cover from the songstress but this time we were reminded that “Kisses Don’t Lie” which was originally sung by Miss Evelyn “Champagne” King. Once again Mandee has revealed her sweet, soulful voice on a very well produced Nu Lovers UK revamp in a soft, sensual reggae style.

In 2018 Mandee performed alongside Arturo Tappin as part of his UK Tour in London and Birmingham where she paid tribute to Aretha Franklin and Etta James and she absolutely astonished the audience with her vocals.

In February 2019 Mandee released her first 5 track Ep entitled *Love & Light* with Fsi Music Productions which is available via CD Baby & most download sites. The response for her EP has been tremendous as her vocal ability & signwriting skills on all tracks have now been exposed to us from a very soulful point of view. Mandee has already started writing & recording new material for future projects with Chopper (Fsi Music Productions).

A Resistance Theatre Company Production.

‘New writing’ production ‘Dream Of A King’ is a solo performance that revisits the man that is the icon Martin Luther King Jr.

The Resistance Theatre Company’s mission is to provide a home for storytelling with an African and Caribbean origin. Their first ever production ‘Dream of A King’ is a compelling solo performance which revisits the extraordinary man that is Dr King set on the night of Dr. King’s assassination, Dream of A King explores the extraordinary man behind the legend. The Momentum behind the civil rights movement are constantly referred to in the modern uprising of social movements and the fight against racism. As Dr. King stated “All men are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.” It is this sense of inalienable connection which makes this in theatre experience inspiring and relevant. The play allows the audience to discover the man behind the icon and to give audiences the opportunity to learn more about King’s passion, empathy, inspiration, dedication, philosophy, intellect, and vision.

Born in South London on the 1st Feb 1972. He found his voice singing Dennis Brown (Easy take it easy) on the stairs on the block. Brought up listening to the mighty Brixton sounds of the early Eighties Sir Coxsone, Taurus and in particular Treasure Isle & King Tubby’s. His older brother Sergeant Six, became a selector with King Tubby’s and he followed the Sound.

In 1986 at the Notting Hill Carnival, at the age of 14, he picked up the mic for King Tubbies and sang for the first time. His sweet singing voice was a huge hit and he became part of The sound, performing at the legendary World Cup clash with Java in 1987 at the Acton Town Hall.

In 1989 he began his recording career. To date he has recorded in excess of 16 singles, having his biggest hit with the Larry Marshall cover I Admire You. Now singing on The Trojan Sound System.

In the 90’s he recorded several tracks with G Vibes under the Goldhanger Record Label, this included the Larry Marshall Classic track Why.

Since then he has been working with various artists, producers and sounds such as:-

Olivia Lichtenstein interview on Colourful Radio 17-Feb-2019

DIRECTOR/PRODUCER – Olivia Lichtenstein, like so many, grew up listening to soul music. She’s passionate about telling Teddy Pendergrass’ story and bringing his music to a new generation. ‘He was an enormous talent and deserves recognition,’ she says, ‘While everyone knows his voice, all too many have forgotten the extraordinary story of the man behind it, his unique contribution to the history of popular music and his courageous triumph over adversity.’

She has had a long and distinguished career and is one of Britain’s foremost documentary filmmakers and has won numerous awards for her work – BAFTA, Grierson, RTS, British Press Guild Award; Cologne Conference Award; Golden Gate Award; cableACE Award…

Olivia started her career at ABC News in their London bureau before becoming a producer and reporter at TV-am. A Russian Studies graduate, Olivia joined the BBC to make the ground-breaking documentary series, Comrades. She won a BAFTA for The Silent Twin: Without My Shadow, and was the editor of BBC television’s former flagship documentary strand, Inside Story. She won the Grierson Award for Tongue Tied, her film about John Diamond’s journey through cancer (he was TV Chef, Nigella Lawson’s first husband.)

While at the BBC, Olivia commissioned over a hundred single documentaries and was Executive Producer of many documentary series for BBC ONE. She also spent a year on attachment to BBC Drama developing projects before being appointed Creative Director of BBC Documentaries, London, where she oversaw a raft of documentary programming. As a drama director, she made A Lump in My Throat, a TV drama starring Neil Pearson. She has also directed BBC ONE’s Holby City and numerous episodes of ITV police drama, The Bill.

She left the BBC in 2002 to become a freelance Producer/Director and writer and her producer/director credits since then include Who Killed Kirsty MacColl? a film about the British singer/songwriter who was tragically killed by a speedboat in Cozumel, Mexico in 2000; Prince Phillip at 90 for ITV1 and The Twins of the Twin Towers for BBC ONE and OWN in the U.S to commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

Olivia joined well-respected, independent production company, Storyvault Films as a partner in January 2012. In 2014, she made Broadmoor for ITV, two films with unique and exclusive access to Broadmoor Hospital, Britain’s high-secure psychiatric hospital. It was the first time anyone has been granted access to the hospital, which houses some of Britain’s most dangerous offenders. IN 2014 she produced and directed, Melvyn Bragg – Wigton to Westminster, a highly-acclaimed 75 minute special for BBC TWO about one of Britain’s foremost writers and broadcasters.

Olivia is also the author of two novels, Things your Mother Never Told You and Mrs Zhivago of Queen’s Park. She was educated at Sussex University and did her Masters degree at UCLA on a Fulbright Scholarship. in 2014, she was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Sussex in recognition of her contribution to film and media.

Lifford Shillingford interview on Colourful Radio 10-Feb-2019

Lifford David Shillingford. Soul singer from the South of London. Featured Vocalist on Artful Dodgers Please Don’t Turn Me On. A career spanning over 20 years in the music industry.

Lifford’s singing career began at primary school in the local church choir where he went on to teach and direct. His first release aged just 17 was a collaboration with MC Mushtaq on a track called ‘Take You Home’ which fueled his new passion leading him to become the front man in a group called Public Demand. Public Demand (which provided him with his first big break) were signed to ZTT through a development deal, and it was during a writing trip in America that the group penned a song which captured the interest of Trevor Horn who duly took the track into the studio. ‘Invisible’ was critically acclaimed as a breakthrough single and considered brave, mature and ahead of its time. A tour with Gabrielle and East 17 followed, staging performances at Wembley Arena. During his time with the band, he continued to write and tutor a number of up and coming artists including a group called Sugababes (the original line up) signed to London Records.

After a short break Lifford went back to singing for himself as a artist and collaborated with garage act Artful Dodger on a track called ‘Please Don’t Turn Me On’ which was a top 4 hit in November 2000. This catapulted Lifford back into the limelight on a higher level, doing radio shows up and down the UK and Europe, TV performances on shows including Later with Jools Holland, Best of Jools Holland, Children in Need, Live and Kicking, London Evening News, T.F.I. Friday, Top of the pops, M.T.V. and M.T.V base with Trevor Nelson, Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and C.D.U.K. The track was also a smash for International clubland, where it was PA’d in Ibiza, Palma, Copenhagen, New York, Switzerland, Sweden, and Germany.

To follow on the heels of Artful Dodger, Mark Hill went on to form a collective called The Stix – a group of live musicians, singers and songwriters which recorded (and toured) an album full of laid back soulful grooves. Lifford’s 3 co-writes and performance vocals have been featured on various compilations since. A promotional tour paved the way for welcoming reviews and gave Lifford another chance to exercise his vocal and live performance skills, including ‘Give And Let Live’ a fund raising charity record for the victims of the Tsunami disaster featured alongside Chaka Khan, Jocelyn Brown, Bluey (Incognito), Charlene Anderson, Omar and the London Community Gospel Choir.
Other successful collaborations include Disclosure, Joey Negro, Grooverider, Conducta, DJ Cameo, Matt Jam Lamont, Wipe The Needle, Rhemi and Hanlei.

T.V and film placements include N.B.A Games 07′ At Home With the Kardashians, American Pie 6 and Paula Abdul’s fly on the wall documentary series.

On a personal note and after years of collaborations & artist performances, Lifford is currently penning his own beautiful soul songs under the guise of Blue Dye and is having some of the most fulfilling experiences to date.

A body of work which will truly reflect who he is as a recording artist.

‘Take This And Grow Flowers’ is the highly anticipated debut album from South London’s Jodie Abacus. Jodie now has over 11 million streams on Spotify, being added to playlists such as New Music Friday (4 times), Sweet Soul Sunday, A Perfect Day and Morning Rhythm to name a few. He has also been added to Apple Music’s Best of the Week 3 times.

Steve Arrington, known for his innovative vocals on such funk classics as “Watching You” and “Just A Touch of Love,” with Slave, as well as his solo hits like “Weak at the Knees”, “Way Out” and “Nobody Can Be You”, and the top ten singles “Feel So Real” and “Dancing In The Key Of Life” Arrington’s songs have been sampled by the likes of Jay-Z, Jermaine Dupri, Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Snoop, LL Cool J, Mariah Carey, and N.W.A, Masters At Work, and even on Pitbull’s massive hit “Timber”.

In 1975, Arrington moved to San Francisco, hoping to take his music to a national level, and landed a spot in the renowned percussionist, Coke Esovedo’s band, and eventually moved in with the percussionist and his manager, becoming a Latin soul apprentice and protégé. Arrington went on to play with Escovedo’s older brother Pete and niece Sheila – now known as Sheila E – during his time in the Bay Area, which included a tour featuring guitarist, Carlos Santana.

As that tour was ending, Arrington returned to Dayton in 1978, to join Slave, as drummer and eventual lead singer, and for the next four years and four albums, he contributed to the innovative Dayton outfit’s most successful period, as dance floor classics like “Watching You,” “Just a Touch of Love,” Snap Shot,” and “Wait for Me” all bear his trademark tenor.

In 1982, Arrington left Slave and formed Steve Arrington’s Hall of Fame. After two Hall of Fame and three solo albums for Atlantic Records, which included “Dancin In The Key”, with three weeks at #2 on the dance charts, and “Feel So Real’’, with #6 on the UK Singles Chart. Arrington was nominated for the 1986 NAACP Image Award for Male Artist of the Year and in 2000 Steve won a Grammy for his contribution to “Money Ain’t A Thang”, performed by Jay Z and Jermaine Dupri.

Arrington left the music business in 1991, at the height of his career and joined the church, devoting his life to spirituality. He continued to study music, from gospel to jazz, classical to blues, electronic to world music, and Latin to hip hop. This fusion of spirituality and musical study resulted in the 2009 self released “Pure Thang”, his first release in nearly 20 years. In it, you hear the discovery of new ideas mixed with the musical legacy of those that came before him. “Ever since slavery, spiritual men and women have come to the fore and spoke,” he says. “It’s a legacy…Last Poets, Mahalia Jackson, the Impressions, Gil Scott-Heron.” Music still represented the desire for freedom, equality and love for Arrington, and this was to be his renewed mission.

He counts blues artists with longevity like Buddy Guy and BB. King among his heroes, and admires, how they’re embraced by new fans throughout the years. He respects innovators like Miles Davis, who embraced and absorbed the music culture of each new generation during his career, to create a continuously evolving musical legacy. As a fan, he is a musical adventurist, embracing everyone from Stravinsky and Bartok to Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawke and Madlib.

Arrington’s current musical journey consists of embracing and connecting with new fans who are hearing his music for the first time, from 2013’s collaborations on the album “Higher” with Dam Funk and “1Question” with Snoop on the 7 Days of Funk album, to 2015’s collaboration with productions duo, Christian Rich (“What More” on “FW14”) and most recently, with Kool Moe Dee (“Are You Beautiful”, 2018). Steve received a standing ovation after his lecture at 2013’s Red Bull Music Academy in NYC – only the 2nd in RBMA’s 15 year history! In September 2014, Steve released “Way Out” (80-84), a retrospective album, which also includes a bonus of previously unreleased and unfinished tracks.

Steve is touring with a new band, as well as doing dates with artists like Public Enemy, DJ Quik, Chub Rock and Q Tip, who are more than up for the idea of sharing the stage with someone who influenced and inspired their careers, as well as classic RnB groups, such as, The Ohio Players, Original Lakeside, The Bar-Kays, Con-Funk-Shun, Cameo and Zapp. In early 2017, Arrington was in the studio with George Clinton, where he added his vocals to a few tracks, plus he’s working on a new album of this own due out later this year.

The name Judi Jackson, is not widely known within the music industry, yet anyone that has met Judi Jackson or seen her perform live will tell you, look out for Judi, she is destined to be a big star.

Born June 1st, 1993, in Roanoke (pronounced, rOH-un-nOHk) Virginia, (USA), Judi’s early years were filled with challenges and obstacles, some of which most would never overcome. Her mother Nancy Lee Martin was a very intelligent writer, pianist, poet, and scholar. Her father, Alonzo Levi Jackson, was an African percussionist/conga drummer and also a historian of African culture and linguistics.

Although both of her parents attended university, only her mother continued on to graduate. Shortly after Judi was born, her parents separated leaving Judi to be raised by her mother who remarried to a very abusive partner. During this time, Nancy and Judi escaped to live at the Red Cross’s women’s shelter. This is where Judi first recognized her affinity for music. She would sing to the women during chapel on Sunday’s to lift their spirits. Whilst staying at the Red Cross, Judi’s mother became terminally ill, and had to be re-admitted to hospital. On this day during one of her grade school classes, Judi’s best friend, Ashley Jones, noticed that something was wrong. She took Judi home for a sleepover, that later they all would jokingly refer to as being “the longest sleepover ever.” Ashley’s parents, Edward and Stephanie Jones, lovingly took Judi in as their own child, and she was fully adopted into the family by the tender age of 12.

Judi is forever thankful to the Jones’s for their love and care, and refers to them as “Mom” and “Dad.” Judi would sing in church, being the first female to play “HARK”- in her church school’s rendition of “HARK the Herald Angel.” It was here that her desires, gifts, talents, and hard work in the music and theatre world continued to blossom. Her talents led her off to the University of Mary Washington, (Fredericksburg, VA), where she majored in Theatre with a minor in Musical Theatre. She shined brightly in college and excelled in all of her classes graduating cum laude. Judi could have played the victim during the difficult times in her life, however, she chooses to focus on her goal of becoming an accomplished multi-talented singer, songwriter, recording artist and musical theatre performer.

Through the Jefferson Center’s Music Lab in Virginia, Judi spent her early years immersed in a school for young artists and musicians to learn, practice, and perform their talents. In 2007 at the age of 14 Judi was fortunate enough to meet Wynton Marsalis at the Jefferson Center performance hall after a show. He sent her a box of music the following Christmas, that became the seed of inspiration for her development as a jazz vocalist. She began listening to and studying the sounds of Blossom Dearie, Billie Holliday, Sarah Vaughn, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, and Mahalia Jackson, amongst many other greats.

Judi continued studying over the next few years and started gaining more experience as a performer by opening for acts such as Mavis Staples, where Snarky Puppy saw her perform and snapped her up to record her original piece ‘Only Love’ as a guest artist on their Grammy-winning album Family Dinner – Volume One.

Born in the country side of Grenada to a music-loving family, music and song-writing have always been a way of life for Sabrina Francis.

Mind you, she wasn’t forced to practice the piano 8 hours a day or write entire symphonies, but she and at least four of her siblings were all taught to appreciate the simple beat of a drum and to take pride in the gratification that can come from expressing yourself with a pen.

Over the years, Sabrina’s has had a number of very memorable opportunities to share her voice with anyone willing to listen. Sabrina’s song “This Is Home“ was used by the Grenada Tourism Authority to promote Grenada as a holiday destination.

Sabrina and her band FLOM (For the Love of Music) started doing small annual tours in Europe, spanning over Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Italy so far.

Sabrina’s first album, “Think in Colour“ was recorded and produced by Samuel Baur (CH) in 2017. Once that was done, Sabrina Francis & FLOM had multiple opportunities to open on the main stage of the Pure Grenada Music Festival. During this festival Sabrina met English singer Joss Stone and did a small collaboration with the UK soul songstress.

Eshe Escoffery’s musical pedigree is formidable. Her gospel roots gave rise to the internationally acclaimed sister group, ‘The Escoffery’s’ who entertained audiences worldwide for over 25 years.

The Danish press wrote of one of his performances on a 2010 European tour: The entire Aalborg experienced the best summer reggae stage show with Sheldon Senior. The energy level was so high that after his first song he had 70,000 massive waving their hands in the air. The born talented entertainer was so dynamic on stage you could feel him reaching the hearts of the enthusiastic audience with so much positive vibes that he had the crowd buzzing with excitement. It was a little bit of Jamaica in Aalborg with Sheldon belting out some of the best music from the island and a lovely reminder of Bob Marley.

Lovella Ellis, known by her stage name as Lov’Ellis, is one of the wave of British singers with a Lover’s Rock, Roots Reggae, and a versatile Soul edge.

Her music credentials are seeped in a rich history of musical heritage as her father was none other than the late great Rocksteady legend, Alton Ellis OD.

Lov’Ellis was born to Sigma Ellis January 8th 1981 in London, UK.
Lov’Ellis discovered her craft from the age of 9 but kept it from her family until the age of 16 years old, she would harmonise songs word for word behind closed doors.
Lov’Ellis first performance was with her Father in 1999 was at the Spanish restaurant Pangea, on Atlantic Road Brixton. She recalls standing on a beer box as her first stage.
she went on to perform with her father again in 2001 at the Catford Theatre and the Metropolitan Hotel on Edgware Road London.

As time went by her love for the music industry heightened, and the passion for song writing blossomed naturally leading her to perform regularly at venues all over the UK, including the popular Jazz Cafe in Camden Town, London.

Sadly, on October 11th 2008 Alton Ellis passed away in Hammersmith Hospital, London. It was a sad and difficult time for Lov’Ellis and her siblings Dean Ellis & Christopher Ellis to watch their Father take his last breath.

Representing her Father
It was now time for Lov’Ellis to step up and keep the promise she made with her father, to try and continue the legacy he has left behind.

In November 2008 after returning from Jamaica, Lov’Ellis was then invited to represent her father as a special guest at the British Film Institute (BFI) where she performed two of his well known hits songs, ‘I’m Still in Love’, & ‘Breaking Up is Hard To Do’. Coincidentally Lov’Ellis had also covered these songs in R&B in 1998.

February 14th 2009 at the Hootananny, Brixton, Lov’Ellis & and her manager Jeff Thompson on behalf of the Ellis family held a tribute show in honour of her Father entitled ‘I’m Still in Love’. This was also a statement to the music industry that she would continue in her father’s footsteps come what may.
Lov’Ella then went on to record ‘Willow Tree’, in January 2009, as a tribute to the legend himself, and also ‘Love on Top’ which proved to be very popular with DJs in the UK and other parts of the world.

April 2009 Lov’Ellis graced the stage at the Coronet London, as the Opening act for Beres Hammond. Also appearing on the night was, Ken Boothe and Maxi Priest.

Gaining Recognition
Saturday 27th November 2010 an exclusive Concert, with Errol Dunkley & Lov’Ellis took place at The Black Grape. This was another chance for Lov’Ellis to exhale as an artist in her own right.

As a result of Lov’Ellis’s hard work recognition just kept coming. She won the Community Music Arts Award in 2011 for ‘Best Crossover Act’. In that same year came the release of the documentary ‘Story of Lover’s Rock’ of which Lov’Ellis had a featured part in. This Documentary was showed in cinema’s all over the UK.
Lov’Ellis had the pleasure of performing on the same stage in the UK with Artist such as. Heatwave, Rose Royce, Jaki Graham, Kenny Thomas, Omar, Junior Giscombe, Beverley Knight, John Holt, Freddie McGregor, Janet Kay, Carrol Thompson, Ken Boothe, Luciano, Gappy Ranks, Morgan Heritage, Mr Vegas, and many more.

In 2012 Lov’Ellis teamed up with Nereus Joseph, to cover the song “Come Out to Play” written by Ciyo Brown; it became an instant hit and stayed in Choice FM’s UK Official Reggae Chart for 4 weeks at number 2.

In February 2013 Lov’Ellis was awarded the Best British Female Newcomer by the British Reggae Industry Award (BRIA).
she was also nominated for the BEFFA as ‘Best Unsigned Act’ in 2013. To her surprise once again in 2014, Lov’Ellis was up for ‘Best UK Reggae Act’.

Debut EP Release
In 2013 Lov’Ella recorded her first album, “VERSATILE”. The album launch took place at the well know Jazz Café in Camden Town.

However, after reflecting over the production on a few of the tracks, she decided not to release it, and went back to the drawing board.
Since then Lov’Ellis has released her 8 track EP “I’m Getting Stronger” available on her website.

Lov’Ellis states, “It has not been easy being the daughter of a legend, due to the high expectations placed on me. I’m proud of the little I have done so far but I still have a long way to go”.
Lovella’s music has taken her to many places throughout Europe the West Indies and other parts of the world.

One of her important projects is to finish a ‘School Tour’ educating children about Domestic Violence (DV).
She has good acting abilities and is currently exploring the possibility of a career in film and television in the very near future.
Lov’Ella’s desire is to see all the singers in the Ellis family come together and create a foundation that will inspire a future generation.

Re-Branding
Lov’Ellis took time off the reggae scene in order to re-brand and maintain her own artist identity. therefore, changing her artist name from Lovella Ellis, Lov’Ella to. Lov’Ellis.

Her first come back single was an original song released February 14th 2016 entitled ‘Loving You Baby’ complete with an interesting video merging ballet and reggae. The song became an instance hit and went straight into the Mi-Soul Reggae Charts and reach number 1 knocking of Jamaican singer Nesbeth ‘My Dream”

Three-time Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Raheem DeVaughn, son of renowned jazz musician Abdul Wadud, grew up in Maryland and cut his teeth performing in clubs throughout the Washington, D.C. area. Born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, it wasn’t until the aspiring musician moved to Atlanta in the 1990s that he began to gain momentum with his music. It was in Atlanta that he met R&B singer India.Arie who invited David to contribute a song to her 2001 album “Acoustic Soul”. David subsequently wrote the track “Part of My Life” which aided the album earning seven Grammy Award nominations. After touring with India.Aria on her supporting tour, David issued his debut full-length “Three Chord & The Truth” in 2004. Released on Brash Records, David supported the release as the opening act on India.Aria’s U.S. tour, greatly enhancing his popularity.

The singer-songwriter’s sophomore album “The Red Clay Chronicles” arrived in 2006, later spawning the single “Something About You” in 2007. The following year David co-wrote the song “There’s Hope” for Aria’s third studio album before inviting India.Aria to sing on his duet “Words”. Peaking at No. 53 on the Best R&B/Hip Hop Songs Chart and subsequently earning a Grammy nomination, the single epitomised the seductive R&B and soul of his 2008 full-length “Acey Duecy”. The album, peaking at No. 7 on the Top Heatseekers Chart, received widespread positive reviews and introduced the singer to a much wider audience.

It was three years before any new material found its release with the 2011 studio album “As Above So Below”. Featuring Shannon Sanders at the production reigns and vocal contributions from Little Brother rapper Phonte and Boyz II Men’s Shawn Stockman, the album found David in good company and was his best-selling record to date. “As Above So Below”’s lead single “4Evermore”, peaked at No. 18 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Songs Chart, and was followed by the compilation album “#LocationLocationLocation” the same year. The singer’s fifth full-length “Love Out Loud” appeared in 2012, spawning the singles “Can’t Look Down” and “Sweet Pain”. Anthony’s most recent release was ‘The Powerful’ in 2016.
